In years past, we would have a club wide meeting to discuss the upcoming season and handle registration paperwork at a local school auditorium.  This year we have decided to do something different.

 

We want to kick off the new season and bring together HAMMER FC players, parents, coaches and directors. Come hang out and play sand soccer volleyball, regular volleyball, corn hole and other fun games. And yes, you can get your club registration paperwork completed as well. 

Time:         10:00am Club wide meeting and registration

                  11:00am to 2:00pm Food, Drink and Games

Location:    The SANDBAR (next to HAMMER FC Training Facilities)

Cost:          $2 per person for all the burgers, dogs and soft drinks you can eat and drink.

Date:           Saturday, June 9th

We also want to introduce The SANDBAR as an official HAMMER FC sponsor.  The SANDBAR is donating money to our scholarship fund and offering all HAMMER FC families a 15% discount card good on any time you dine or drink at The SANDBAR.

Consistent with our one of our principles that HAMMER FC is committed to the communities in which we live, work and play, we are partnering with FREESTORE FOODBANK to help bring food items to families in need.  We are asking all kids coming to tryouts to help the FREESTORE FOODBANK and bring at least one canned good donation to tryouts.

 FREESTORE FOODBANK
The FREESTORE FOODBANK distributes over 18 million pounds of food annually in 20 Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana counties with 325 local member agencies.  They provide items to soup kitchens, shelters, food pantries, churches, daycare, senior centers, and many other organizations.
 
 HAMMER Help FREESTORE FOODBANK Program
Bring Food items needed to tryouts: canned meat products (tuna, chicken, ham, spaghetti with meatballs, chili with meat and beans, beef stew, beans and wieners, etc.) peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruits. Other non-perishable items needed include: canned soups, mac & cheese, personal care items (soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste/brush, feminine hygiene products, disposable diapers).  No glass items.

 

Simple Donation Tryout Procedure
Please bring your canned good to each day of tryouts, drop off in the FREESTORE FOODBANK Barrel and proceed to tryout check-in where you will sign-in and get a tryout t-shirt.  Lets see if we can collect over 500 canned goods for FREESTORE FOODBANK this year!  Please make a difference and give to the many people within the tri-state area who are in need of our help.

The Girls played very well throughout the whole tournament. They lost the Final 5-2.

2012 adidas Blue Chip Showcase Completed!
Let’s get ready for 2013!
 

 

 

On behalf of the HAMMER Board of Directors and the Blue Chip Committee, I want to thank the tremendous volunteers that helped make these past two weekends a success.
 
This year’s women’s event was tremendously successful as approximately 135 College Coaches came to watch 64 top teams (including our own U15, U16 and U17 Girls Premier teams) play. 2012 Women’s College Coaches Registered (Click Here to View)

Here is a snippet from a Division I College Coach who attended the adidas Blue Chip Showcase; "...I would like to thank you and all your wonderful staff and volunteers for putting on such a great event.  Every year exceeds the year before in quality and professionalism and this year was no different. I have been coming to the Blue Chip for 10 years now and this is always the event I look forward to coming to..."

Another College Coach writes; "I just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you and the staff at HAMMER FC for another wonderful event. We college coaches spend a lot of time on the road at different events- and yours is always at the top in terms of a quality production. Your staff and volunteers are always friendly and helpful, the food is always first class, and we always come away with a good list of kids to follow up with. I appreciate the time and effort you all put into it and look forward to seeing you again next year!"

Another coach sent this note; "Thanks much for a great event this past weekend... We played at the Player’s Showcase in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and I must say, you guys do a superior job, organization, hospitality, fields and quality of officiating."

HAMMER FC has been hosting the adidas Blue Chip Showcase for 21 years!  I am proud of the work that the Hammer FC Staff has consistently done to make this a nationally acclaimed event.  I am equally proud how so many parent come together to support the Blue Chip. 

 

Again, thank you to all that volunteered.  I look forward to next year! It will be another great one.

We are pleased to announce that Hammer FC has been accepted to be the Cincinnati representative in the WPSL (Women’s Premier Soccer League). Our inclusion into the prestigious WPSL is a great honor as it recognizes Hammer’s enduring excellence in developing players to their fullest potential.


The WPSL is a 50-plus team national women’s soccer league with five conferences and is considered one of the top five leagues in the world. The league is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) as an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). The WPSL’s mission is to provide the highest level of soccer in our effort to: bring affordable & quality family entertainment to the community; display positive role models for our youth; while, being a stepping stone for aspiring players to Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS). 


The WPSL seeks to have a great variety of teams from across the country that consists of college graduates, current college players as well as foreign and professional players coming back as amateurs to play for their home teams.  Hammer was chosen to be the Cincinnati representative and participate in the Midwest region against teams from other premier clubs such as Ohio Premier (Columbus, OH), Carmel United SC (Indianapolis, IN) and FC St. Louis (St. Louis, Mo.) 


The relationship with WPSL fits perfectly with Hammer FC’s mission.  Hammer FC is a college-preparatory program. All soccer-related decisions are made with the end goal of providing our players with the best possible opportunities at the collegiate level. The WPSL affiliation now allows Hammer FC alumni to continue their development and love for the game by allowing them to prepare for their collegiate seasons while coming home and remaining part of the Hammer organization. The WPSL season runs from May to August. There is a league championship tournament that is held the last weekend of July or first weekend of August.


Buck Lally, in collaboration with Clay Revis, Bob Downs, and Thom Nickley, has spearheaded this new endeavor.   Further details will be released soon.
