CLASSICS HAMMER 2008 MEN'S COLLEGE SOCCER CLASS
May 1, 2008 - The Classics Hammer FC is pleased to announce their Men’s college class of 2008.  4 Classics Hammer players are currently committed to continue their playing careers at the collegiate level and leading the way in the class of 2008 are Cory Zinser attending Ohio Northern University; Joey Sandman attending Ohio Wesleyan; Austin Schobel attending Lipscomb University and and Wes Jones attending Georgetown College.

These four fine athletes, as well as the rest of the U18 Men's team, have been a "joy to work with" according to Coach Marc Sabin and we thank them for their dedication and commitment to the Classics Hammer FC. Current Commitments Page


CLASSICS HAMMER 2008 WOMEN'S COLLEGE SOCCER CLASS
April 30, 2008 - The Classics Hammer FC is pleased to announce their Women’s college class of 2008.  17 Classics Hammer players are currently committed to continue their playing careers at the collegiate level, with 14 attending NCAA Division I institutions.  Leading the way in the class of 2008 are Kiondra McGee and Caitlin Beck, both of whom were named NSCAA All-Americans and will play their collegiate soccer at University of Kentucky and University of Louisville respectively.

U11 Girls Premier are Ohio Elite Tournament Champions
April 27, 2008 - The Classics Hammer FC U11 Girls Premier won their second straight tournament at the Ohio Elite Spring Classic at Miami Whitewater Park. The first tournament the girls won was the Inaugural Hammer Cup and they have now won this tournament in the Spring, 2008 campaign. The team is really playing well and members are front row: Brooklyn, Natalie, Hanna, Sarah, Stephanie, Shannon and Lauren. Back row: Ben Urson, Abby, Allyson, Ashley, Hannah and Sarah. Brian Bronowski Named as New Technical Director
April 1, 2008 - The Classics Hammer FC is pleased to name Brian Bronowski as new Technical Director.

With more than 19 years of coaching experience across all ages and genders, Coach Bronowski is the perfect choice. He holds the US Youth Soccer A license, the NSCAA Premier Diploma, the NSCAA Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma, and the US Youth Soccer National Youth License. These credentials make him the most highly licensed staff member in the Club’s history.

For the last six years, Coach Bronowski has served as DOC for the Classics FC (Olentangy Youth Athletic Association) in Columbus. In that role, he managed both the Boys and Girls select and recreational programs, overseeing programs for more than 3000 players. More importantly, Coach Bronowski has significant ODP experience, including State Team coaching experience and Director of the Columbus
District. He has collegiate experience as Assistant Men’s Coach at William & Mary and professional experience as Assistant Coach and Director of Youth Soccer for the Virginia Beach Mariners.

Asked about Brian, Brett Thompson (Director of Coaching for Ohio South), had this to say:

"Brian Bronowski has been part of Ohio South's State ODP Staff, Coaching Education Staff as well as the Director for the Columbus District for the last 10 years. Brian is also the Region 2 ODP staff as well as the 1996 Development camp Head Coach. These accomplishments speak volumes of his ability and his respect in the soccer community".

Ken White, of Bowling Green Mens Soccer, had this to say:

"Brian Bronowski is an individual of sterling character and dedication. He has a superb understanding of the youth game, is a tireless worker, and always puts the players best interest first. He is a first class individual".

Coach Bronowski is already working with the staff to begin transition plans, and will be with the Club full time by May. He will be with the Club for the Blue Chip Hammer Cup and the Blue Chip Showcase.

U18 Boys Go Undefeated in Blast Showcase
November 25, 2007 - The U18 Boys team went undefeated winning their group at the Columbus Blast College Showcase with a record of 2-0-1 in the team's first games and the team played better though out the tournament.

This was a very good start to what should be a very successful year for the club's first U18 boys team. Several players are in communication with colleges to extend their playing career after the CHFC season.

After a strong tryout, the U18 boys have been accepted to both the Buckeye Premier League and Midwest Regional League.


U9 Boys Premier are Fall Ball Champions
October 7, 2007 - The U9 boys premier teams went undefeated en route the Fall Ball Championship.

Led by head coach Tim Swart, the boys outscored their opponents 18-6. Congrats Boys!!

U13 Boys Premier Win High Five Cincy Challenge
October 14, 2007 - After an opening game draw, the U13 Boys Premier team won the final three games en route to the tournament championship.

U12 Girls Royal Champions of Fall Classic
October 1, 2007 - The U12 Girls Royal came home Champions of the NKSA Fall Classic, outscoring their opponents 16-0 in the four games played.

Led by head coach, Pete Phillips, the team advanced to the final by way of PK's, after tying their final preliminary match.

U10 Girls Royal Champions of Fall Ball, 3 Finalists
October 1, 2007 - The U10 Girls Royal team earned some hardware over the weekend at the Fall Ball Classic Tournament by winning the Championship 6-3 after going undefeated in the preliminary round.

Led by head coach Courtney Parsons, the girls have advanced to the finals of both tournaments they have played this season (Dog Day Finalist).

The U9 Girls Royal, U10 Girls White, and U11 Girls Royal all advanced to the tournament Finals in their respective age groups at the Fall Ball.

U12 Girls Premier back-to-back Champs of OP Invitational
September 16, 2007 - The U12 Premier Girls were crowned champions of the Top Division of the Ohio Premier Invitational for the second consecutive year.

Led by coach Ben Urso and trainer Thom Nickley the girls outscored their competition 9-2.  The U12 Girls Premier team overcame 2 State Cup Champions, 1 State Cup Finalist and the top ranked team from Indiana on the way to the victory.

"This is a fantastic win for the Classics Soccer Program because this is the first year of 11 v 11 for our U12 Girls and the second year for many of the teams they beat.  This confirms our club’s focus on skills and demonstrates how this translates with the girls to any size of play,” Ben Urso.

Congratulations to the girls and coaches for this fantastic win!

Classics Hammer FC sends 8 to Finals at Dog Days
Classics Hammer won four titles at the Dog Days Soccer Tournament and had four more reach the Championship game.

Tournament Champions: 94/95 (U13) Boys Royal, 95/96 (U12) Boys Premier, 95/96 (U12) Girls Premier, 96/97 (U11) Boys Premier, and 97/98 (U10) Boys White.

Finalists: 97/98 (U10) Giirls Royal, 98/99 (U9) Girls Premier, and 98/99 (U9) Girls Royal.
